Acnes are one of the most common and hated skin conditions. They affect almost 50% of men and women between the age 20 and 29. There are hundreds of treatment options available to clear or reduce the severity of acnes. Yet, very few of these treatments have proven their effectiveness against severe acnes that often leave scars behind.
According to a recent study, the laser which is typically used in the process of tattoo removal can also help in treating facial scarring from acne inflammation. In the study, the researchers have experimented with a new device, called a fractional ablative laser, on 17 patients with facial acne scars. The researchers applied the laser to the patients’ faces a total of six times, with the sessions lasting from four to eight weeks. Every session took somewhere around 10 and 15 minutes.
